Six more years in the Pro Peloton for Quick-Step
Quick-Step has been a sponsor of the top Belgian team for 23 years. Today, President Flooring Ruben Desmet announced that Quick-Step extends its partnership with Patrick Lefevere’s team until 2027. The extension of 6 years is the longest contract in the team’s history.
Quick-Step entered the cycling world in 1998, as a co-sponsor of the highly successful Mapei team. Quick-Step is one of the most enduring sponsors in professional cycling and now adds another six years. “The decision to continue our sponsorship is self-evident to us,” says Ruben.
Shared values
“We continue to grow strongly internationally with our brand. Of course, that has a lot to do with our excellent employees, partners & products, but the many successes of Patrick’s team have certainly increased awareness of our brand among the general public.”
“We also share the same values that drive success – dare to dream and convert those dreams into results. The Wolfpack’s leadership in the peloton is renowned, and its continuous strive for excellence is something that’s in our DNA as well,” continues Ruben.
Future stability
Team CEO Patrick Lefevere is happy with the contract extension. “It’s more than your usual sponsor extension, it’s proof that solid relationships exist in cycling, based on trust, mutual respect and shared values. This long-term agreement will allow us to continue improving the quality of our performances, to focus on the future and remain among the best in the sport.
The six-year contract extension also ensures the partnership can build on its successful history. “We strongly believe in cycling and the team. By entering a long-term commitment to provide stability, we are sure that the talent in the team will turn dreams into success,” Ruben concludes.
